At the Lakeland Revival tonight during worship led by Roy Fields, Todd spent time soaking in the anointing, which as he explained is absolutely necessary if he is going to minister effectively.Tonight the worship time lasted for about 2 hours which was in preparation for something a little different.
Todd began preaching about the dangers of becoming complacent and apathetic and too familiar with the anointing, to the point where you can start to become almost bored with it. That may seem impossible with what is happening at the Lakeland Revival but it is a real danger.He preached that we need to be constantly stirred up with a Holy hunger and desperation for more and more of the Holy Ghost. We can never be satisfied with where we are and must always be pressing in for more and more of His Presence and the Glory.
There are few of us who respond to the anointing with enough passion to actually make a real difference. For example of all the people who attended Kathryn Kulman meetings, why was a young man named Benny Hinn so taken with what he saw to press in and lay hold of the anointing which has resulted in the ministry he has today?
There was a time of crying out to God repenting of being complacent and begging Him to give us a Holy hunger that we will want to pursue more and more of Him. Also repenting of the fact there is still far too much of us and not enough of Him. Asking the Holy Spirit to have us die to ourselves, as we can not do this ourselves.
Give us a pure heart LORD and burn out anything in us that is not pleasing to you. Burn out sin, jealousy, anger, criticism, gossip and slander.
Todd said a very dangerous prayer is to ask the LORD to show you your own heart. Once seen in all it's ugliness you will realize you are totally dependent upon God, that indeed in us dwells no good thing.
Todd later laid hands on several people from the assembly at the revival in Lakeland to take the anointing back to their home countries.He said he saw the fire falling in the following places:
